Patrick Lee enjoys painting and drawing images that are aesthetically pleasing, simple and natural. Good composition along with accurate drawing, color and value are the foundations of quality art.

A native of Pennsylvania, Lee received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Edinboro University in 1996. He has continued to study all aspects of painting and drawing by researching the styles and techniques of old masters as well as modern painters. He is interested in many styles of art and believes that mastering his craft is a lifelong journey.

The foundation of any good painting is the drawing. Lee continually hones his skills in figure drawing, anatomy and the techniques required to build up a three-dimensional form on a flat surface. The accurate representation of light, shadow and space create the illusion of freshness and naturalness, as though the image were created quickly or accidentally. But by learning to see things a certain way, an object can be seen not as distinct objects, but as chunks of shapes and values, allowing the artist to render an image with efficiency while it is created with great intent and care.
